MDDF Repayable Term and Working Capital Loans
Indigenous entrepreneurs may apply for start-up or expansion of an existing business for a maximum of $100,000 and up to five years. MDDF loans must be approved by the Board of Directors.
Indigenous Women in Entrepreneurship (IWE) Micro-loan Program
In partnership with the National Aboriginal Capital Commission Association (NACCA) to support Indigenous female entrepreneurs. To be eligible applicants must have a majority (51%) equity share in the ownership of the business, and a minimum of five percent (5%) cash equity or in-kind contribution. Micro loans of up to $20,000 (5% equity, 45% grant, and 50% loan) may be granted.
Entrepreneurship and Business Development (EBD) Contribution Program
In partnership with the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor), the EBD is non-repayable and supported and monitored by claims and receipts. Funding of up to $99,999 is available to Indigenous entrepreneurs for expansion, capital acquisition, and marketing. Clients are required to provide ten percent of their own equity to the project.
MDDF Irrevocable Letters of Credit
A guarantee for payment to Indigenous businesses who are involved in larger projects, often with the government of the Northwest Territories.
MDDF Business Advisory Services
MDDF employees assist with application completion and provide information regarding other potential funding sources.
